Foreign buyers in Japan generally choose between two paths.
The simplest and fastest route. Available regardless of your visa status.
Permanent residents and those married to Japanese nationals can often qualify for mortgage terms similar to Japanese citizens. If you're on a work visa or other non-permanent status, your options narrow — fewer lenders will consider your application, and terms (interest rates, loan-to-value ratios) tend to be less favorable.
